Montblanc presented this white gold Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Geosphères Nightsky at this year’s Watches & Wonders. The timepiece once again highlights the brand’s signature cylindrical hairspring tourbillon and three-dimensional twin globes, while introducing a striking new dial color scheme of deep blue and grey for enhanced visual contrast.The intricate multi-layered dial is divided into two sections: the upper half showcases the tourbillon with a cylindrical balance spring, set against a star-studded deep blue sky; the lower half, in grey, features two rotating hemispheres—one for the Northern Hemisphere and one for the Southern Hemisphere—displaying the world’s current day-night cycle and time. At 6 o’clock sits a second time zone (Home Time) indicator, styled after a marine compass.
Powering the watch is Montblanc’s in-house Calibre MB M68.40 manual-winding movement, composed of 281 parts. The cylindrical hairspring ensures greater isochronism and stability in timekeeping. It beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve.A pusher located at 7 o’clock on the case side allows the hour hand to be advanced in one-hour increments, while the sapphire caseback reveals an engraved world-time scale, showing global cities and coordinates corresponding to both hemispheres—allowing wearers to read the time anywhere in the world via the miniature globes.
Limited to 18 pieces, the watch is priced at USD 275,000.
