This ring is from Dior’s 2018 “Dior Dior Dior” high jewelry collection, inspired by the gorgeous lace in haute couture. The piece was designed by Dior’s artistic director of fine jewelry, Victoire de Castellane, and it alternates between spirals, round diamonds, gold bead trims, and drop-shaped colorful gems to highlight the emerald main stone, reinterpreting the intricate lace pattern.
The central stone of the ring is an emerald with a traditional emerald cut, possessing a rich bright green color. This main stone is held by 8 gold prongs, with the setting beneath it polished into bright gold beads, reminiscent of the precise details found in haute couture.
The outer ring surrounding the main stone showcases a double-layer structure of “lace pattern.” The inner layer is made of a gold spiral, displaying an abstract grid pattern of lace, with neat borders outlined in round diamonds. The outer layer is embellished with gold beads, forming a wavy silhouette and adorned with 7 different drop-shaped colorful stones such as ruby, sapphire, emerald, and tourmaline, resembling gorgeous pendants hanging from the edge of a skirt.
The ring setting is made of gold, and the wide edge of the ring reveals a hollow honeycomb pattern, resembling lace gently covering the finger. The small hollow structures require higher polishing standards. The side edges of the ring wall are also decorated with diamond bezels, utilizing a semi-bezel setting to create a lighter and brighter visual effect.
