PIAGET Polo Perpetual Calendar with Obsidian Dial
PIAGET unveils a new addition to its Polo series, featuring a perpetual calendar complication. The watch continues the unique “round exterior, square interior” case design, with one model boasting a natural green obsidian dial paired with an emerald bezel, blending the colors of both gemstones seamlessly. The other version features a deep blue obsidian dial, where the unique gemstone texture evokes a serene, starry-sky effect.
The new watch is housed in a 42mm platinum case, just 8.65mm thick, finished with horizontal brushing and mirror polishing to create a refined play of light and shadow. A hidden button at the 9 o’clock position allows quick adjustment of the perpetual calendar functions. The green obsidian version features a bezel set with 56 progressively sized emeralds, each matched with exceptional precision.
The square-pillow-shaped dial is made from natural obsidian slices. Polished to a mirror-like shine, each dial displays its own unique iridescence. The layout follows the classic design of the Polo Perpetual Calendar, with month and leap year at 12 o’clock, date at 3 o’clock, a moonphase at 6 o’clock, and a day display at 9 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the PIAGET 1255P automatic movement, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 42-hour power reserve. Its ultra-thin construction—just 4mm thick—is made possible by its off-center rotor layout.
The blue obsidian version comes with a blue rubber strap, priced at ¥810,000 RMB. The green obsidian model with the emerald bezel is limited to 18 pieces, with the official price yet to be announced.
