The white dial is crafted for the first time using a lacquer technique, achieving a bright and pure white tone. The hands, hour markers, and scales are in contrasting black, symbolizing the black-and-white color scheme of a spacesuit. The tip of the chronograph seconds hand and the “Speedmaster” inscription are a striking red, representing the red stripes on a mission commander’s spacesuit and paying homage to the red protective cover of the Alaska I prototype.
It is worth noting that this new model adopts the applied hour marker blocks, a feature previously seen only in gold-cased Moonwatch models, giving the dial a richer sense of depth. The dial includes a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, all three sub-dials adorned with circular guilloché patterns.
It is powered by the OMEGA 3861 manual-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering a 50-hour power reserve. This movement is certified by METAS, can resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, achieves precision of 0/+5 seconds per day, and includes a practical hacking seconds function.
