Inspired by 1930s military and pilot’s watches, the case design reflects a pure utilitarian spirit. The fully bronze case and bronze dial develop a natural patina over time, meaning each Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter gains its own unique character with wear.
The oversized onion-shaped crown dominates the side profile and operates the chronograph via a historical single-pusher mechanism — start, stop, and reset all through one button, just like traditional Minerva tool chronographs.
The 44mm bronze case features a satin-brushed bronze dial with cathedral hands and bold Arabic numerals filled with vintage Super-LumiNova.
The dial layout includes:
