Design Inspiration
Lake Tahoe is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the United States, covering an area of 490 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 501 meters. It is the largest alpine lake in North America and a famous ski resort—the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley, is situated northwest of Lake Tahoe.
Technical Features
Lake Tahoe Special Edition: Equipped with a new “Lake Tahoe White” ceramic case, delivering a pure, frost-like white finish. The black dial features white hands and markers, with sans-serif numeral hour markers ensuring excellent legibility. The dial layout includes:
3 o’clock: Day and date window
6 o’clock: Small seconds sub-dial
9 o’clock: 12-hour chronograph counter
12 o’clock: 30-minute chronograph counter
Forest Green Special Edition: The case and dial are finished in a subdued “Forest Green” hue, with dial markers in a subtle light green tone, creating a cohesive aesthetic. The chronograph pushers and case back are crafted from matte black Ceratanium®, a material that combines the lightness of titanium with the scratch resistance of ceramic.
Movement Specifications
Both new models are powered by the in-house IWC-manufactured Caliber 69380 self-winding movement, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 46-hour power reserve. A soft-iron inner case provides protection against magnetic fields, while the specially reinforced sapphire crystal can withstand sudden pressure changes. Water resistance is 60 meters. The case back is engraved with the classic “TOP GUN” logo.
Limited Edition Information
The Lake Tahoe Special Edition comes with an embossed rubber strap and a folding clasp, while the Forest Green Special Edition features a textile strap with a rubber lining and a pin buckle. Each model is limited to 1,000 pieces per year. The official price is approximately 10,795 EUR.
