During the 2021 Watches & Wonders exhibition, Chopard introduced a new blue-gray Happy Ocean dive watch, marking the first time the model features a two-tone case combining stainless steel and 18K rose gold. Between the dial and sapphire crystal, five brilliant diamonds set in gold bezels twirl and glide freely with the wearer’s movements — a signature of the Happy collection — while the watch boasts professional-grade water resistance of 300 meters.
Originally launched in 2017, the Happy Ocean was the first unisex 40 mm watch in the Happy Sport family, designed to suit both men and women. The new edition pairs gold and blue-gray tones, evoking the depths of the ocean. Its unidirectional rotating bezel bears a standard dive-time scale, combining functionality with elegant sportiness.
The dial features a wave-pattern texture, across which five mobile diamonds drift gracefully beneath the sapphire crystal — reminiscent of glimmering sea foam on ocean waves. Both hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in darkness. A date window is discreetly positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.
At the heart of the watch beats Chopard’s in-house Calibre 01.01-C automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vph with a 60-hour power reserve. The marine theme continues on the caseback, where a wave motif engraving mirrors the design of the dial.
The watch is paired with a blue-gray calfskin strap, priced at 16300 €
