The change in the case dimensions of the new Submariner is quite subtle. Although the diameter has increased by 1mm, the watch appears more proportionally compact due to a slightly larger bezel, more tapered lugs, and more pronounced crown guards on either side of the crown. The numerals and markers on the black ceramic bezel are coated with a platinum PVD layer, making them highly legible and scratch-resistant.
The dial retains the classic three-hand layout with clear black-and-white contrast for excellent readability. The hands have been slightly lengthened to adapt to the change in dial size. A special new detail on the dial is at the 6 o’clock position – a Rolex coronet now appears between the words “SWISS MADE,” aligning it with models like the Yacht-Master and GMT-Master II.
It is powered by the Caliber 3230 self-winding movement. Equipped with the proprietary Chronergy escapement and a blue Parachrom hairspring, and featuring optimizations to the barrel and gear train for improved efficiency, it achieves a 70-hour power reserve and a precision rating of -2 /+2 seconds per day.
The Oyster steel bracelet has also been widened by 1mm. It is fitted with the Glidelock extension system, which allows the bracelet length to be adjusted and extended by approximately 20mm without tools. The official price is approximately 8,852 Euros.
