“Urushi” (Japanese lacquer art) is a representative traditional Japanese lacquerware technique. The raw lacquer sap is extracted from the lacquer tree, then mixed with materials such as gold, silver, pigments, and mother-of-pearl to create vibrant colors. All patterns are hand-painted using special brushes, making each dial slightly unique.
This new creation retains the 39.5mm rose gold case, with a slim thickness of just 6.8mm, making it a very wearable dress watch. The slender bezel is mirror-polished, and the crown is exceptionally small and refined.
The urushi master depicts a scene of a divine dragon leaping above waves on the dial. The dragon’s powerful form is covered in gold powder, highlighting its dignified and noble posture, its front claw clutching a blue mother-of-pearl “flaming pearl”. Beneath the dragon’s feet, golden waves surge powerfully. The deep-colored background lacquer layer is sprinkled with tiny gold flakes, creating a starry, deep night sky. The entire dial requires over 20 hours of work to complete.
Powered by the Caliber L.U.C 96.17-L self-winding movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing a 65-hour power reserve. This movement features an off-center micro-rotor and is only 3.3mm thick. The movement bridges are adorned with fine Côtes de Genève and perlage finishing.
Paired with a black alligator leather strap, it is a limited edition of 88 pieces. The official price is approximately 27,200 EUR.
