Bulgari unveiled this brand-new Serpenti Jewellery Watch at this year’s Baselworld, featuring for the first time a “head-to-tail” design that presents a lively, coiling serpent. It is the most minimalist Serpenti model to date, making it suitable for everyday wear without feeling overly flashy.
As one of Bulgari’s signature elements, the serpentine design originated from a 1940s vintage Bulgari watch, with a coiled bracelet perfectly hugging the wrist. This model does not use the spring-loaded “scales” structure; instead, a hinged design allows the bracelet to move more freely, and the “scales” can be added or removed to adjust the size.
The dial and bracelet decorations are thoughtfully designed, with five material variations available. Options include mother-of-pearl and lacquered dials with diamond hour markers. The most extravagant full-diamond version uses a snow-set technique, where densely arranged diamonds create a shimmering, scale-like effect.
Another standout is a rose gold version with red lacquer, featuring a semi-transparent lacquer that, after multiple layers and drying, allows the hand-crafted metal stripes beneath to show through. The dial is also painted in red lacquer, producing a subtle sparkle reminiscent of aventurine.
To enhance wearing comfort, the inner bracelet features a hollowed design, echoing the neat pattern of a snake’s belly.
