The Panerai Radiomir 3 Days Acciaio is a remarkable vintage-inspired diving watch introduced at SIHH 2017. Drawing inspiration from the 1938 Ref. 3646 Type A, it revives Panerai’s iconic cushion-shaped case and twelve-sided bezel. The brown gradient dial evokes the patina of early radium-based luminous dials, creating a warm and classic aesthetic.
The 47mm stainless steel case features a prominent onion-shaped crown for easy winding. Its twelve-sided bezel is engraved with the historic “Officine Panerai – Brevettato”, reflecting the brand’s heritage. The two-hand layout with bold Arabic numerals ensures high legibility while maintaining the timeless Panerai look.
The brown gradient dial gradually brightens from the edges toward the center, echoing the aged effect of vintage Panerai dials. Historically, Panerai used radium-based luminous powder in its “sandwich” dials, causing the black surfaces to fade to brown over time. This deliberate fumé finish pays homage to that transformation.
The caseback mirrors the twelve-sided bezel and reveals the P.3000 manual-winding movement through a sapphire crystal window. With a 72-hour (3-day) power reserve and an independent hour-hand adjustment mechanism, this caliber offers both precision and convenience.
The watch comes on a brown leather strap with a removable wire-lug system for easy interchangeability. Water-resistant to 30 meters, it retails at USD 9,800, blending historical charm with modern reliability.
