Louis Vuitton Tambour New-Generation Review
The Louis Vuitton Tambour was completely reimagined in 2023, marking one of the most significant design evolutions in the brand’s modern watchmaking history. This new-generation Tambour introduces a slimmer, more architectural profile while preserving the iconic drum-shaped silhouette that has defined the line since its debut.
At just 8.3 mm thick, the redesigned case presents a refined and contemporary elegance ideal for dressier wear. Inside, it houses La Fabrique du Temps’ first independently developed automatic three-hand movement — the LFT023. Both its construction and finishing adhere to the highest standards of haute horlogerie.
The 40 mm stainless steel case features clean, compact lines with a satin-brushed and polished surface. The vertical bezel displays an engraved Louis Vuitton relief logo, adding strong brand identity. A curved ergonomic caseback enhances comfort and further emphasizes the watch’s slim visual profile.
The collection is available in two dial variations — deep blue and silver-grey. Both feature a stepped small-seconds layout, where engraved minute tracks interact rhythmically with raised hour markers. The central section is vertically brushed, the minute ring carries a matte finish, and the small seconds at 6 o’clock is decorated with a circular snailing pattern, adding depth and sophistication.
For the first time, a PARIS inscription appears at 12 o’clock, honoring the maison’s birthplace, while FAB. EN SUISSE at 6 o’clock pays tribute to Swiss craftsmanship and La Fabrique du Temps.
Powering the watch is the LFT023 automatic movement, offering a 50-hour power reserve. It is fully designed in-house and chronometer-certified by the Geneva Observatory. Key highlights include a solid-gold micro-rotor, a Monogram flower-engraved barrel cover, and finely executed hand-polished anglage on the bridges.
The new-generation Tambour is also the brand’s first model with an integrated stainless-steel bracelet, tapering fluidly from the case for a seamless, contemporary profile.
