The Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon Watch showcases the Dutch brand’s signature retro-modern design. Introduced at Baselworld, the Parallax 1912 Tourbillon features a floating tourbillon with a hacking function, allowing the seconds hand to stop precisely while setting the time. The large 60-second tourbillon is positioned at 7 o’clock, enhancing both visibility and horological artistry.
Functional & Aesthetic Dial Layout
The dial is crafted from a single piece of silver with a matte finish, complemented by elegant blued steel hands. The hour and minute subdial is located at 2 o’clock, the power reserve display at 11 o’clock, and the central subdial shows the large seconds hand. This meticulous layout ensures optimal readability while maintaining Grönefeld’s distinct style.
Innovative Crown Mechanism & Movement
Unlike traditional pull-out crowns, the Parallax Tourbillon uses a “press-down” crown mechanism to switch between winding and time-setting modes. In the time-setting mode, the tourbillon continues to run until completing a full 60-second cycle, enabling precise time adjustment. The G-03 manual-winding movement powers the watch, offering a 70-hour power reserve and exceptional accuracy.
Case & Collector Editions
The watch is available in a 43mm stainless steel or 5N rose gold case. The stainless steel edition is limited to 12 pieces, retailing at $185,380, while the rose gold edition is limited to 28 pieces at $189,795. Sapphire crystal front and back allow a clear view of the movement, emphasizing its technical sophistication.
