Since its founding in 1906, natural flora has remained one of the most significant sources of inspiration for Van Cleef & Arpels. The new creation takes inspiration from scenes of the Alps depicted in French novelist George Sand’s 1833 literary work Lélia, capturing the delicate moment when edelweiss awakens and blooms gracefully under the warm sun.
Crafted in white gold and yellow gold, the brooch features six clustered edelweiss blossoms. The petals are rendered using a variety of diamond cuts, including pear-shaped and marquise diamonds, mimicking the flower’s delicate fuzz and pristine white petals. The centers are adorned with round yellow diamonds, resembling warm sunlight streaming down, while round and pear-shaped sapphires set between the blossoms add a captivating play of light and shadow to the piece.
