Tiffany introduced this striking brooch in its 2019 Blue Book high jewelry collection Jewel Box. The designer created an abstract, dynamic representation of a flying bird with folded wings at rest. The elongated body is crafted in gold, while the edges of the wings and tail feathers are set with sapphires and diamonds, forming a crystalline ice-blue gradient.

The brooch is entirely made of gold, with an abstract interpretation of the bird’s form—its pointed beak naturally extends into the head, wings, and tail, creating a continuous, flowing silhouette. The gold surface is finished with a matte texture, showcasing subtle handcrafted marks that follow the contours of the wings and body, enhancing the naturalistic flow.

The most remarkable feature is the sapphire and diamond pavé on the wings. Each stone is uniquely cut in a stepped style, fitting precisely along the flowing channels, with tight spacing between adjacent gems. The tail feathers cleverly employ an asymmetrical structure, combining matte gold with gradated gemstones, balancing visually with the slight tilt of the bird’s head.

This piece gained further attention when American actor Ezra Miller wore it on the red carpet at the 2019 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, paired with a Burberry striped suit.
