The turtle has long been a classic motif for Tiffany. As early as the 20th century, Tiffany incorporated turtle shells into colorful glass lampshades, and historical archives show early turtle-themed jewelry, including delicate gold turtle charms linked together as playful, dimensional bracelets.
This brooch interprets the turtle motif with a contemporary design. The shell is made of platinum, shaped in a smooth, oval silhouette. The designer emulates the layered texture of a turtle shell by outlining three geometric frames in platinum, with the center set with custom-cut quadrilateral and pentagonal diamonds. These diamonds resemble sparkling shards of ice and are meticulously fitted to follow the shell’s pattern, forming a perfectly symmetrical mosaic.
The turtle’s four flippers extend naturally from the body, crafted in gold with faceted surfaces to enhance dimensionality and reflect light naturally.
