Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum Overview
OMEGA’s Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum is crafted with a platinum case featuring meteorite subdials and is powered by a faithful 1:1 recreation of the iconic Caliber 321 movement. This model pays tribute to the brand’s deep-rooted connection with space exploration and the legacy of the original Moonwatch.
The 42mm case is made from OMEGA’s exclusive “Pt 950 Au 20” platinum alloy, a blend of platinum and gold that produces a brighter, more refined finish compared to standard platinum. The case is fitted with a box-shaped sapphire crystal that enhances the visual depth of the dial. A black ceramic bezel surrounds the crystal, featuring a white enamel-filled tachymeter scale with classic details like “Dot over 90” and “Diagonal to 70,” echoing historic Speedmaster references.
The black onyx dial features platinum markers and hands, including the signature 3-6-9 chronograph layout:
3 o’clock – 30-minute chronograph counter
6 o’clock – 12-hour chronograph counter
9 o’clock – small seconds
At 12 o’clock sits a vintage-style logo with the long “r” lettering, an aesthetic nod to Speedmaster models from the 1960s. Each subdial incorporates real lunar meteorite slices, giving every watch a unique texture and reinforcing the Moonwatch’s storied connection to lunar exploration.
Powering the watch is the legendary Caliber 321 manual-winding movement, operating at 18,000 vph with a 55-hour power reserve. The movement’s column-wheel construction is significantly more complex to manufacture than standard chronograph calibers, and today, it is reserved only for the most elite Speedmaster models.
The watch is paired with a black alligator leather strap and is priced at 70,000 €.
