The 2021 Blue Hole Deep Challenge was recently held in the Bahamas, where RICHARD MILLE’s brand partner and French free diver Arnaud Jerald wore a RICHARD MILLE RM 032 watch during the competition. He broke the world record for free-diving depth twice in succession, ultimately reaching an unprecedented 117 meters below the surface.

The RM 032 worn by Arnaud Jerald is one of the most complex diver’s watches ever created by RICHARD MILLE, featuring an annual calendar, chronograph, and flyback function. It represents a perfect blend of design, comfort, efficiency, performance, and safety, ensuring reliable operation even at depths of 300 meters.
The case measures 50 mm in diameter and 17.8 mm thick, giving it a commanding wrist presence that suits underwater conditions where visibility and operability are essential. Thanks to the use of Grade 5 titanium, the watch remains lightweight and comfortable despite its size. The three-part bezel is secured with 22 screws, and rotation requires simultaneously pressing the buttons at 12 and 6 o’clock, a safety feature that prevents accidental adjustment underwater.

The crown is equipped with a locking mechanism—when the inner ring displays a red triangle, the crown and chronograph pushers are locked; rotating it to the green triangle position unlocks them.
The skeletonized dial is a rarity among dive watches. Its black baseplate provides strong contrast and excellent legibility. Instead of a conventional running seconds hand, the RM 032 features a “Marqueur de Marche” running indicator at 3 o’clock, with a distinctive black-and-white contrast. The large date display sits at 12 o’clock, while the month aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock completes the annual calendar function.

Another major highlight is the chronograph system: both the chronograph seconds and minutes hands are centrally mounted for clear, intuitive reading, while the 12-hour totalizer is positioned at 6 o’clock. The pusher at 4 o’clock instantly resets all hands to zero, enhancing timing precision.

Inside beats the RMAC2 automatic winding movement, oscillating at 28,800 vph with a 50-hour power reserve. The movement is crafted from titanium, treated with black PVD coating, and features a variable-inertia balance wheel and a variable-geometry rotor, optimizing winding efficiency according to the wearer’s activity level.
The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap and is priced at €155,500
