Boucheron introduced this set of natural-style diamond jewelry in 2019 as part of the “Paris vu du 26” high jewelry collection, inspired by the “Acanthus leaves” relief decoration found in Parisian architecture. The designer used platinum to create the soft, extended shape of the leaves, and the delicate hollow leaves are inlaid with diamonds, making them light and sparkling.
The “Acanthus leaves” are a classic decorative element found on the tops of columns in classical architecture. Over time, they have evolved into various styles through periods such as Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Byzantium, and the Renaissance. Boucheron drew inspiration from the Baroque architecture of Paris, emphasizing the flowing shape of the “Acanthus leaves” with the slightly curled leaves, creating an outstanding three-dimensional effect.
The designer used platinum to outline the shape of the leaves, presenting a natural, streamlined silhouette. Small gaps are retained between the leaves, creating a rich visual hierarchy. The surface of the leaves is paved with round brilliant-cut diamonds, allowing the dazzling fire to be admired from different angles.
This jewelry set consists of five pieces in total—bracelets and rings that adopt a semi-open design, with the ends of the leaves cleverly transitioning into the bracelet and ring walls. The brooches and earrings showcase a softer leaf shape, evoking the motion of leaves blowing in the breeze. The most complex piece is undoubtedly the Feuilles d’Acanthe necklace, where a cluster of “Acanthus leaves” hangs elegantly in front of the neck, creating a graceful and luxurious style.
