The “Lion Head” totem was first introduced in Gucci’s 2015 ring collection, marking a new element introduced by Italian designer Alessandro Michele, who became the creative director of the brand. The “Hortus Deliciarum” series incorporates diamond vines and large-colored gemstones, evoking the mysterious and dreamy atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
These Hortus Deliciarum earrings are crafted in platinum. The earring parts feature three-dimensional “Lion Head” sculptures with detailed mirror polishing. The lion’s mane is adorned with bright round diamonds, and the lion holds a cabochon-cut black opal with a natural color change. The sharp teeth form a unique four-prong setting structure.
The main stones below the earrings are pink tourmaline, sapphire, and green tourmaline, cut into drop and heart shapes. The white gold setting is delicately engraved around the outer edge to emphasize the visual impact of the colored gemstones. The space between the “Lion Head” and the main stones is naturally bridged by vine leaves, with diamond-studded leaves extending from the white gold vines, adding a softer atmosphere to the entire piece.
