Chanel launched this piece in the “1.5” high jewelry series in 2019, featuring the reinterpretation of the brand’s classic “Camellia” theme. The cascading petals are paved with bright round diamonds, and the stamen is a cushion-cut ruby showing a full and fiery red color. The name of the bracelet, “Rouge Incandescent” literally means “Red Glory”.
The designer first used platinum to outline the camellia petals and polished the surface to allow more reflected light to pass through the diamonds. Scattered among the petals are round diamonds of different sizes combined with an exquisite prong setting structure, presenting a freer and lighter visual effect than traditional paving. In the center of the camellia is a cushion-shaped ruby inlaid stamen showing a brighter tone against the backdrop of diamonds.
The finishing touch of this piece is a pear-shaped diamond beside the flower, reminiscent of crystal dewdrops dripping on camellia petals in the morning. This is a detail full of natural vitality. The bracelet consists of 8 groups of ruby bead necklaces that perfectly echo the stamen inlaid with rubies. It is worth mentioning that this jewelry piece can also be worn as a brooch—hidden underneath the camellia is a detachable structure that can be easily converted into a brooch.
