Cartier Cloche de Cartier Skeleton Watch Review
During the 2021 Watches & Wonders exhibition, Cartier unveiled the Cloche de Cartier Skeleton, a mesmerizing reinterpretation of one of its most iconic designs. This version retains the “cloche” (bell-shaped) case and features a beautifully skeletonized dial and movement, creating an airy, mechanical elegance.
The Cloche de Cartier was first introduced in 1920 and remains one of Cartier’s most unique and rare timepieces. Its name, “cloche,” meaning “bell” in French, comes from the watch’s distinctive bell-shaped case, which can stand upright like a miniature clock.
This edition features a 37.15 mm × 28.75 mm platinum case, just 6.7 mm thick. The case has a mirror-polished finish, contrasting with the satin-brushed skeletonized movement. It is powered by the hand-wound Caliber 9626 MC, offering a 38-hour power reserve. The skeletonized bridges are cleverly shaped to form Roman numeral hour markers.
This watch is limited to just 50 pieces worldwide and is paired with a black alligator leather strap. The retail price is approximately €64,500.
