The 41.2mm case is crafted from 950 platinum, with a thickness of 12.6mm. The bezel and lugs are mirror-polished, while the caseband and caseback feature a satin-brush finish. The tempered and elegant silver-white dial features a symmetrical layout:
12 o’clock: 30-minute chronograph counter
6 o’clock: Small seconds sub-dial
The central chronograph seconds hand and the split-seconds (rattrapante) hand are treated with rhodium plating and blued steel respectively, ensuring excellent legibility.
The operation of this split-seconds chronograph is straightforward:
Press the button at 2 o’clock to start both central chronograph hands simultaneously.
Press the button at 10 o’clock to stop the split-seconds hand, displaying an intermediate time.
Press the 10 o’clock button again to make the split-seconds hand catch up (French: rattraper) to the main chronograph seconds hand.
This split-time measurement can be repeated multiple times.
The button at 4 o’clock resets both hands to zero.
It is powered by the Calibre L101.2 manual-winding movement, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering a 58-hour power reserve. This is A. Lange & Söhne’s 66th in-house calibre, comprising 365 parts. Viewing through the sapphire caseback reveals exquisite finishing details such as Glashütte ribbing, straight graining, beveled and polished edges, and hand-engraved components.
