This openworked version of the Patrimony Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon was one of the most striking long power reserve watches showcased at the 2014 Geneva Watch Salon. Based on last year’s platinum model, the Calibre 2260 SQ has over 75% of its components skeletonized and hand-engraved—transforming a classically elegant timepiece into a delicate, gothic-inspired masterpiece.
Each skeletonized Vacheron Constantin this year features distinct artistic motifs, and this model’s engravings are inspired by the sweeping arches of Gothic cathedral domes. Every carved line connects harmoniously with the mechanical structure, creating a visually unified composition.
The central dial is omitted, replaced by a rock-gray chapter ring with white gold hour markers. More than 80% of the bridges have been openworked, offering an unobstructed view of the Maltese cross-shaped tourbillon at 6 o’clock, which also integrates the small seconds display on its carriage.
Inside, the Calibre 2260 SQ movement features two double barrels, forming a deep architectural landscape that balances matte and polished finishes. This intricate structure not only enhances the sense of depth but also delivers an impressive 14-day power reserve, certified with the Geneva Seal for its exceptional craftsmanship.
With its tourbillon, hand-skeletonized decoration, and 14-day autonomy, this piece is priced around USD 360,000, only modestly higher than the non-skeletonized platinum version.
