This new ring was unveiled by Gucci at this year’s Baselworld and marks the brand’s first exploration of the “tiger” motif in its Fine Jewelry collection. The design features an intricate interplay of black and colorless diamonds, creating the vivid pattern of tiger stripes.

The “tiger” theme first appeared in Gucci’s Fashion Jewelry collection, notably in the double-band ring adorned with tiger heads at each end. In that early design, the stripes were rendered in colored enamel, while the eyes shimmered with green crystals provided by Swarovski.

The latest creation elevates the concept with more sophisticated diamond pavé craftsmanship, giving the tiger a touch of mythical allure. The top of the ring depicts a lifelike tiger head, while the opposite end transforms into a split fishtail.

Rendered in rose gold, the body of the tiger is set with colorless diamonds, while the black stripes are highlighted with black-rhodium-plated prongs set with black diamonds, forming a striking contrast. Two oval-cut emeralds serve as the tiger’s eyes, each secured in a half-bezel setting that artfully doubles as eyelids.

The most ingenious detail lies in the fishtail, where black-rhodium prongs embrace colorless diamonds to create a subtle interweaving of black and white tones. The tail’s surface is finely hammered to mimic the texture of fish scales, adding a tactile dimension to this imaginative and exquisite piece.
