Japanese jeweler Mikimoto introduced this swan brooch in its 2019 Jardin Mystérieux high jewelry collection, drawing inspiration from European gardens. The design captures a swan gracefully gliding across a pond. Mikimoto incorporates the brand’s signature natural pearls with brilliant diamonds, creating a fairy-tale, dreamlike atmosphere.
The brooch captures the swan’s side profile in motion—its body is crafted from a baroque pearl, cleverly using the pearl’s naturally irregular shape. The back arches naturally, the tail curves slightly upward, and the textured surface evokes the fullness of white feathers.

The swan’s elongated neck is paved with round diamonds, contrasting beautifully with the soft luster of the pearl, while the head extends naturally into a gold beak. The eye is set with a cabochon onyx, giving the piece a lively and expressive character.
To enhance the poetic effect, the designer used blackened white gold to suggest shimmering reflections on the water. Flowing curves extend naturally across the brooch, accented with marquise-cut diamonds in a suspended setting, evoking rippling waves and the swan’s reflection, creating a breathtaking garden scene.
