In the lower left portion of this miniature scene, a fairy dances lightly among pink enamel flowers. Her face is set with a rose-cut diamond, and she holds a delicate “flower” carved from a pink sapphire. Her wings, crafted using the plique-à-jour enamel technique, exhibit an exceptionally slender and translucent quality.
A particularly remarkable feature is the leaves, fashioned from blue plique-à-jour enamel. This demands exceptional skill, as artisans must carefully set diamonds into the initially fired enamel layer. A second firing process is then performed to permanently fuse the enamel and gemstones. This innovative setting method eliminates the need for traditional metal claws, allowing the diamond “morning dewdrops” to appear with exceptional clarity and a dynamic, lifelike sparkle. The creation of each unique dial is a testament to patience and precision, demanding over 180 hours of meticulous work.
The watch features a 41mm white gold case, with the bezel, crown, and lugs fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The case back is engraved with a decorative motif of fairies amidst a sea of flowers, complementing the scene on the dial. It is powered by the Caliber Q474 manual-winding movement, offering a 38-hour power reserve.
