Through the use of invisible-set sapphires, the Maison recreates the depth and movement of the sea, while round brilliant-cut diamonds depict poetic white waves, resulting in a design that feels both pure and lyrical.
The “Mystery Set” (Serti Mystérieux) is one of Van Cleef & Arpels’ most iconic techniques, celebrated for its extraordinary precision. This intricate process allows gemstones to be set seamlessly without any visible prongs, creating a smooth, continuous surface of color. In this piece, the sapphires are individually custom-cut to ensure perfect harmony in hue and shape, forming a rich, deep blue expanse that captures the viewer’s imagination.
Above this sapphire sea, white gold lines overlap to form sculpted waves, pavé-set with round brilliant-cut diamonds that shimmer with flowing light.
