The Van Cleef & Arpels Carpe Koï Bracelet Watch is one of the most captivating and intricate pieces presented at the 2015 Geneva Watch Fair. This one-of-a-kind piece draws inspiration from Japanese culture’s symbol of perseverance and good fortune, the koi fish, and beautifully integrates vibrant gemstones to create a lifelike and mesmerizing design.

The entire bracelet features over 8,000 gemstones, demonstrating the designer’s mastery in utilizing colored stones. The scales of the koi are adorned with yellow sapphires and orange garnets, while the eyes of the fish are made of two black spinels. The waves are created with white diamonds, and the electric blue of the waves is set with Paraíba tourmaline, adding a striking contrast to the piece.

The meticulous work of gem setting took 3,450 hours, and the piece took 14 months to complete.

The gemstone-encrusted dial is cleverly hidden inside the fish’s mouth, and the hour markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock are set with princess-cut diamonds. A gentle press on the fish’s tail opens the bracelet clasp, offering a seamless and elegant experience when wearing this intricate work of art.

The Carpe Koï bracelet watch is a true masterpiece that pairs wonderfully with Van Cleef & Arpels’ Palais de la Chance ring from 2012, which also features the koi theme.
