This diamond ring is part of Tiffany’s Masterpieces 2015 high jewelry
collection, inspired by the New York City skyline. The designer used princess-cut diamonds paired with step-cut baguette diamonds, evoking the towering high-rise buildings that define the city’s skyline.
The designer, Francesca Amfitheatrof, drew inspiration from Tiffany’s historical pieces, particularly from the Art Deco jewelry of the 1920s. She incorporated bold geometric lines into the design and utilized popular diamond cuts from that era—princess cut and baguette cut diamonds.
The ring features two distinct designs:
-
One ring showcases a princess-cut diamond at its center, with 76 facets to highlight its brilliant fire.
-
The second ring is composed of 16 baguette-cut diamonds arranged in a neat, channel setting, where the diamonds fit together without prongs, creating a cleaner, more modern aesthetic.
To complement the square-shaped design of the diamond setting, the band is crafted with a wide-edge design. Amfitheatrof added brilliant-cut diamonds and baguette-cut diamonds in a staggered arrangement on the band, enhancing the ring’s depth and richness.
