Piaget introduced this ring in 2019 as part of the “Golden Oasis” high jewelry collection, inspired by the light of the sun in the vast desert. The designer paired rose gold with pink tourmaline, creating a desert scene bathed in soft light at dawn and dusk. The name of the ring, “Sun Gleam,” perfectly symbolizes the concept of “sunlight.”
The main stone of this ring is a 1.72ct cushion-cut pink spinel, which has a rich pink hue that symbolizes the desert sun. This is one of the most popular colors for spinel, with the color primarily caused by the element “chromium” (Cr). On both sides of the main stone, flowing lines of baguette-cut diamonds extend outward, reminiscent of the afterglow of sunlight stretching along the horizon.
The ring band adopts a double-layer structure, with “beams” made of rose gold arranged in layers to form a complete ring shape. The ends of the “beams” are designed with a semicircular outline, creating a visual effect of light fading. The surface of the band also features delicate engravings that showcase flexible light and shadow changes from different angles.
