Chaumet designer Jean-Baptiste Fossin created an antique Pansy-themed tiara in 1850, using fine gold and silver wires along with diamonds to form delicate, lifelike petals and leaves, showcasing typical naturalistic style, which also served as the inspiration for this new creation.
The new piece reinterprets the unique form of the pansy flower with a modern perspective – platinum shapes the plump, rounded petal outlines. One petal is set with a large oval diamond to showcase radiant brilliance; the other three petals are backed with snow-set diamonds, with their edges naturally transitioning to sapphires or pink sapphires, depicting the pansy’s naturally gradient color layers.
One ring features a pistil set with a 1.13-carat cushion-cut Fancy Intense Yellow diamond as the primary stone, graded VS2 clarity, its warm, bright fire complementing the yellow sapphires accents at the petal bases. Another ring uses a 1.04-carat D color, VVS1 clarity cushion-cut colorless diamond as the primary stone, with petals adorned with pink sapphires, creating a pure and delicate beauty.
