Unveiled as part of BVLGARI’s 2020 Barocko High Jewelry collection, the BVLGARI Cabochon Exuberance ring is a powerful expression of the Maison’s Roman heritage and its mastery of bold gemstone design. The BVLGARI Cabochon Exuberance ring draws inspiration from the historic Farnese Gardens (Horti Farnesiani), founded in 1550 on Rome’s Palatine Hill, translating architectural grandeur into an opulent yet harmonious jewel. At the center of the BVLGARI Cabochon Exuberance ring is a spectacular 58.77ct cabochon-cut tanzanite. Shaped using BVLGARI’s signature cabochon technique, the gemstone displays a smooth, rounded surface that intensifies its deep, saturated blue-violet hue. The absence of facets allows light to flow evenly across the stone, emphasizing its rich color depth rather than brilliance alone. Four refined gold prongs elevate the tanzanite, ensuring excellent visibility from multiple angles while maintaining a sense of architectural balance. The Farnese Gardens were among the earliest private botanical gardens in Europe and became a symbol of aristocratic culture during the Baroque era. In the BVLGARI Cabochon Exuberance ring, this heritage is reflected through the use of ornamental window-inspired motifs, interpreted in gold and diamonds. The ring setting adopts a structured, almost façade-like composition that recalls the decorative rhythms of historic Roman architecture. Enhancing the central gemstone is a sophisticated double-layer diamond design. The outer halo is composed of precisely aligned step-cut diamonds totaling 2.17 carats, custom-cut to fit together seamlessly and create a continuous geometric frame. Inside this architectural border, a second layer of round-cut diamonds totaling 1.82 carats is pavé-set in a decorative pattern inspired by vintage Baroque ornamentation. This contrast between linear step cuts and brilliant round diamonds adds depth, rhythm and visual richness to the ring. Elegant V-shaped gold details on both sides of the setting further echo the ornamental vocabulary of the Farnese Gardens, reinforcing the dialogue between jewelry design and historic Roman architecture.
