The 1815 Tourbillon Enamel Dial is a limited edition by A. Lange & Söhne introduced in 2018. It is based on the 1815 Tourbillon stop-seconds tourbillon released in 2014. The dial has been upgraded to a white Grand Feu enamel plate, reflecting classic A. Lange & Söhne style. The Grand Feu enamel requires 30 separate hand-fired processes, with red enamel hour markers at 12 o’clock fired separately due to differing melting points.
Case and Dial Design
The platinum case measures 39.5 mm in diameter and 11.1 mm in thickness, typical for a dress watch. Blued steel hour and minute hands complement the railway track scale. At 6 o’clock, the tourbillon bridge occupies a prominent space, enhancing visual depth and mechanical aesthetics. The sapphire crystal front ensures clarity while protecting the delicate enamel.

This watch is powered by the hand-wound Caliber L102.1, which beats at 21,600 vph and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The stop-seconds tourbillon instantly halts when the crown is pulled out, allowing precise time setting. This mechanism is more complex than conventional tourbillons, reflecting Lange’s mastery in haute horlogerie. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the decorated movement, hand-engraved bridges, Geneva stripes, and ruby thrust bearing are visible.
