At SIHH 2016, Cartier introduced a new pink gold version of its celebrated Crash Skeleton, following the platinum openworked model unveiled the previous year. This Crash Skeleton Pink Gold maintains the same architecture and design as the 2015 edition, with both the case and skeletonized movement now rendered in 18K pink gold.
The Crash Skeleton merges the brand’s most iconic case silhouette with a full skeletonized construction, and it is also the first Crash model whose movement mirrors the asymmetric case shape. The combination of openworking and sapphire crystal on both sides allows an unobstructed view of the entire hand-wound caliber, including the ruby-set balance jewel visible through the 6 o’clock bridge.
The blued steel sword-shaped hands complement the cabochon sapphire set into the curved crown. Measuring 28.15 × 45.32 mm, the case is notably larger than the original Crash from the 1960s, making it more suitable for contemporary men’s wrists. Powering the watch is the Caliber 9618 MC manual-winding movement, offering a power reserve of approximately three days.
Limited to 67 pieces.
