This year, Grand Seiko has become slightly more “complicated” than in previous years — for the first time, the 9S86 high-beat movement is equipped with a GMT dual-time function and paired with a steel bracelet. The dual-time function is ideal for cross-time-zone business trips, while the steel bracelet enhances everyday wearability, making this one of GS’s most practical models in recent years.

The case design continues the clean lines of last year’s 44GS, while the dial features a radial pattern inspired by mountain ridges, with a 24-hour scale displayed via a dedicated GMT hand for the second time zone.

The movement is an upgraded 9S86 GMT, running at 36,000 vph for exceptional precision, with a daily accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds. Unlike typical high-beat movements with limited power reserves, this watch provides 55 hours, sufficient for daily use.

The black dial with gold GMT hand is a limited edition of 600 pieces, and the titanium rotor on the caseback is engraved with the iconic Grand Seiko lion emblem, featuring a unique golden hue due to oxidation treatment.

The version with a white dial and blue GMT hand is particularly favored, and paired with a leather strap, it looks equally stunning.
