Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Watch

The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon was one of the most talked-about timepieces at this year’s Baselworld. Departing from the traditionally “heavy” impression of the Octo line, Bulgari achieved an astonishing feat — a case thickness of just 5 mm, making it the world’s thinnest tourbillon watch.

The black lacquered dial with slim hour markers presents a minimalist, elegant aesthetic. However, due to its mirror-like surface, legibility under bright light is somewhat compromised — though there’s no denying that this watch looks exceptionally sleek on the wrist.

Despite its ultra-thin profile, the watch retains an impressive wearing comfort, thanks to its square case design and broad strap integration. Turning it over reveals the beautifully finished movement, which measures a mere 1.95 mm in thickness, one of the thinnest tourbillon calibres ever made. The regulating system is simplified, with time adjustment done directly on the balance wheel, and the flying tourbillon completes one full rotation every minute.
The 40 mm platinum case paired with a black alligator strap radiates understated luxury. With a power reserve of 55 hours and a price tag around USD 150,000, this watch stands as both a technical achievement and a tribute to Bulgari’s mastery of ultra-thin horology.
