Jaquet Droz has just released its 2015 Year of the Goat zodiac watch — the Petite Heure Minute Relief Goats, brilliantly incorporating the theme of “Three Goats Bringing Good Fortune” with a special decoration of plum blossoms, which symbolize the arrival of spring and the end of winter in Chinese culture. This is undoubtedly one of the most meticulous zodiac watches of the year.
The golden goats are sculpted in intricate detail, portrayed in various poses as they climb rocky terrain. It is considered the most finely crafted and lifelike gold sculpture of the year’s zodiac series. There are two versions based on different materials: one features a red gold dial paired with a red gold goat, with a carnelian inlaid hour and minute dial; the other features a white gold dial with a white gold goat, and the mother-of-pearl hour and minute dial. Both dials are decorated using enamel filling techniques.
The 41mm case is a very neutral size, but the white gold version features a diamond-set bezel, making it more suitable for women. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can appreciate the sculpted goat pattern on the rotor — a truly exquisite detail.
Powered by the Calibre 2653 automatic movement, the watch has a 68-hour power reserve, which is slightly limited for this high-end watch.
Both versions are limited to 28 pieces each.
