IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition The Longest Flight Review
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire is a world-time pilot’s watch debuting at the 2019 SIHH. This special edition was created to honor the aviation adventure “The Longest Flight,” in which British pilots Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones circumnavigated the globe in a restored Spitfire aircraft. The watch integrates IWC’s patented Timezoner mechanism, offering one of the most intuitive multi-time-zone systems available today.

The stainless-steel case measures 46 mm in diameter and 15.2 mm in thickness, giving it a bold wrist presence. Its design reflects the Spitfire cockpit with silver, black and military-green tones. A 24-hour display sits beneath the fan-shaped aperture at 12 o’clock, while the date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.

The Timezoner mechanism originally appeared in 2016. For this Spitfire edition, IWC removed the chronograph function to present a cleaner dial layout. The black ceramic bezel is engraved with 24 world-city names, each representing a time zone. By pressing and rotating the bezel, the hour hand, 24-hour display and date automatically realign, allowing fast time-zone switching without stopping the movement.

Some city names carry a small “S” marking daylight-saving-time locations, providing useful seasonal context for global travelers.

Powering the watch is the IWC 82760 calibre, featuring a 60-hour power reserve and operating at 28,800 vph. The caseback is engraved with a Spitfire aircraft and the inscription “Silver Spitfire – The Longest Flight,” reinforcing the watch’s aviation heritage.
This limited edition of 250 pieces originally retailed for 14,100 EUR. For collectors of pilot watches and world-time complications, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition The Longest Flight remains a distinctive and highly functional travel companion.
