Swiss jeweler Fawaz Gruosi introduced this cocktail ring in the 2020 “Boundless Creativity” high jewelry collection, creating a striking presence through the interplay of precious gemstone colors. The designer cleverly employed a suspended setting, making the sapphire appear as if it is floating above the ring’s shank.
The sapphire center stone is step-cut, boasting exceptional clarity and a vivid, intense hue. The ring’s structure is particularly ingenious: four prongs set with emeralds lift the central sapphire off the shank, while arched pavé-set trapeze diamonds enhance the sapphire’s brilliance. The outermost layer features a cluster of emeralds connecting visually to the wearer’s skin, producing a pleasing sense of depth and layering.

The flowing shank wraps around the gemstone like a living form. The crescent-shaped pavé diamonds are individually custom-cut for each stone, increasing the complexity of both setting and craftsmanship. The inner band is finely polished to ensure comfortable wear.
