Tudor Black Bay 54: Vintage-Inspired Dive Watch
The Tudor Black Bay 54 takes its design inspiration from Tudor’s first dive watch in 1954—the Oyster Prince Submariner ref. 7922. Notably, the case is the smallest in the Black Bay series to date, measuring 37mm, giving it a vintage yet refined aesthetic.
The stainless steel case is satin-polished and measures only 37mm in diameter with a reduced thickness of 11.24mm, making it the lightest and most comfortable Black Bay watch so far, while maintaining a reliable 200-meter water resistance. The bezel has been redesigned with slightly adjusted numerals for improved legibility, and the crown size is reduced to match the new case dimensions.
The black dial continues the classic three-hand layout, with hands, hour markers, minute tracks, and inscriptions highlighted in striking gold accents. The minute hand narrows at its base, and the seconds hand ends in a round tip instead of the traditional snowflake design.
Inside, the watch is powered by the MT5400 automatic movement, beating at 28,800 vph with a 70-hour power reserve. COSC-certified, the movement features a silicon hairspring and tungsten rotor, delivering daily accuracy of -2/+4 seconds.
The watch comes on a stainless steel bracelet and retails for €3,690.
