This sapphire ring is part of Tiffany’s 2017 Blue Book High Jewelry Collection, inspired by the natural poetry of the Brunfelsia flower, also known as the
“Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” blossom. The design recreates the flower’s enchanting transition of hues — from deep violet to soft lavender and finally to white — using a delicate combination of purple sapphires, pink diamonds, and white diamonds.
At the center lies a 14.37-carat cushion-cut purple sapphire, rich and profound in tone. The gemstone is given a modified cushion cut with extra facets, enhancing its luminosity and brilliance despite the deep color.
Flanking the central stone are two half-moon–shaped emeralds, completing a graceful three-stone composition. This
elegant configuration, popular during the Victorian era, creates a gentle chromatic contrast between the sapphire’s cool violet and the emerald’s vivid green.
The ring’s shank features geometric diamond pavé patterns that evoke the passage of time. Round brilliant diamonds of varying sizes gradually shift in hue — from deep pink to pale pink and finally to colorless — symbolizing the flower’s evolving beauty through the stages of “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.”
