Following the breathtaking golden dragon creation of last year, Jaquet Droz continues its mastery of sculptural artistry with the Petite Heure Minute Relief Seasons. Inspired by the great tits of Switzerland’s Jura Mountains, this exquisite timepiece captures the delicate beauty of the bird through a fusion of gold engraving and micro-painting techniques.
The entire dial is hand-carved from mother-of-pearl, while the finely engraved and sculpted gold bird is meticulously set upon its surface before being delicately painted. The domed sapphire crystal enhances the depth and three-dimensional character of the scene, drawing the viewer into a miniature world of craftsmanship and nature.
The 18K white gold case features an inner bezel and lugs adorned with 272 double-cut diamonds, while the white gold buckle is set with 24 additional diamonds, totalling 1.19 carats of IF–VVS1-grade stones.
Through the sapphire case back, the movement reveals bridges shaped like the outspread wings of the bird, harmoniously paired with mother-of-pearl to create a poetic and imaginative motif. Every polished component reflects the same graceful curvature, underscoring Jaquet Droz’s devotion to detail.
At its heart beats the Jaquet Droz Calibre 2653, a self-winding mechanical movement equipped with twin barrels, providing a power reserve of 68 hours.
