The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 pays tribute to the legendary origins of the Reverso, first introduced in 1931. Following the original ultra-thin version in 2011, the Rouge edition in 2012, and the Duoface Blue in 2013, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled in 2014 a new Chocolate brown dial version — a warm and elegant reinterpretation of this Art Deco classic.
This edition continues the baton-style hour markers and dauphine hands, while introducing a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, inspired by a 1935 Reverso historical model. The harmonious proportions and subtle color palette evoke the timeless dialogue between past and present — a hallmark of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s design philosophy.
The case measures 46.8 × 27.4 mm and remains impressively slim at 7.3 mm thick, housing the Calibre 822/2 manual-winding movement with a 45-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vph.
Adding a final touch of authenticity, the strap is handcrafted by Casa Fagliano, the renowned Argentinian polo boot maker. This partnership recalls the Reverso’s very origin: a watch designed in the 1930s to protect its crystal during British officers’ polo matches in India — a timepiece born from sport, transformed into an icon of elegance.
