IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Edition W125 Titanium Watch

IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Edition W125 is one of the most distinctive modern Ingenieur releases, blending 1930s racing heritage with IWC’s newest watchmaking technology. This review takes a full look at its titanium construction, Caliber 69370 in-house movement, refined dial layout, and overall wearing experience.

Design Inspired by the Mercedes-Benz W125

The IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Edition W125 draws direct inspiration from the legendary Mercedes-Benz W125 “Silver Arrow”. The lightweight titanium case echoes the aesthetics of pre-war racing machines, offering both robustness and comfort on the wrist. The silver-white dial complements the titanium material, producing a clean, instrument-like appearance.

The dial follows a traditional Ingenieur layout: the date window and small seconds sit at 3 and 6 o’clock, while the chronograph counters are positioned at 9 and 12 o’clock. This balanced design enhances readability for both everyday wear and timing functions. Around the outer edge of the dial is a tachymeter scale rated to 1000 meters, reinforcing the racing theme.

In-House Caliber 69370 Movement

Powering the 42mm case is IWC’s own Caliber 69370, a modern automatic chronograph movement built from 200 components. It features a durable and precise column-wheel mechanism that ensures smooth chronograph operation. When adjusting the time, the small seconds hand automatically resets to zero — a detail that improves accuracy and user experience.

The movement runs at 28,800 vph and delivers a 46-hour power reserve. With 36 jewels and IWC’s modern construction techniques, Cal. 69370 is engineered for reliability, making it suitable for both collectors and everyday use.

Case Size, Wearability & Strap

The watch measures 42mm in diameter and 15mm in thickness, giving it a sporty wrist presence without feeling heavy, thanks to the titanium case. It is paired with a black calfskin strap with diamond-pattern stitching, enhancing both comfort and visual texture.

This limited edition of 750 pieces adds exclusivity and collector appeal, making it a standout among modern IWC special releases.
