The MP-05 LaFerrari immediately captured everyone’s attention when it was first released in 2013, thanks to its engine bay-inspired design and impressive power reserve performance. This year, Hublot has launched a new version with a titanium case and yellow hour markers, featuring a more noticeable luminescent coating on the numerals, making it easier to read the time compared to the first red version.
The entire HUB9005.H1.6 movement is entirely designed by Hublot, with the biggest challenge being to ensure a stable power output while providing an ultra-long power reserve.
The carefully crafted titanium case houses 637 mechanical components, powered by 11 “parallel” mainspring barrels, offering an incredible 1200-hour power reserve. To facilitate winding, Hublot has specially designed an electric “winding screwdriver” that is used to wind the watch and also adjust the time.
Through the sapphire crystal glass, one can clearly observe both the time and the movement’s operation. The left-side roller indicates the power reserve, the upper-right roller shows the hour markers, the lower-right roller shows the minute markers, and the 6 o’clock roller serves as the seconds hand.
Beneath the seconds hand disc is the suspended tourbillon, which is perpendicular to the case. The tourbillon frame has a diameter of 14.50mm, enhancing its visual appeal.
An ultra-long power reserve has always been the ultimate pursuit for mechanical watch enthusiasts, and Hublot has perfectly achieved this ideal. Of course, with such extraordinary specifications, the price is not cheap—limited to just 50 pieces, with a retail price of €345,000
