The Hermès Dressage collection was first introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Hermès watchmaking. The name Dressage, meaning “equestrian performance” in French, reflects the shared spirit between master watchmakers and horse trainers — both driven by precision, passion, and artistry.

The Dressage Chronograph, unveiled at Baselworld 2013, marked a major milestone for Hermès — its first in-house chronograph. The model builds upon the H1925 automatic movement, enhanced with a chronograph module by Dubois-Depraz, the same specialist that supplies complications to Audemars Piguet and Girard-Perregaux.

In terms of design, it retains the signature DNA of the first-generation Dressage: the distinctive tonneau-shaped case, rounded Arabic numerals, and the H-patterned oscillating weight. Measuring 38.4mm across, the case offers a refined, understated profile, making it more elegant than many other tonneau-shaped chronographs.

The dial features a small seconds at 3 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 6, and 30-minute counter at 9. For improved readability, Hermès opted for open minute markers — a design often found in traditional chronographs — instead of its usual rail-track pattern.
A highlight is the date window integrated into the 12-hour counter, forming a graceful symmetry with the 5 and 7 o’clock hour markers — both functional and visually harmonious.

Presented as part of Hermès’ Spring/Summer men’s collection, the Dressage Chronograph perfectly embodies the house’s timeless style. With a retail price just over $10,000, it’s a sophisticated addition to any gentleman’s wardrobe.
