Inspired by the Japanese art of “Temari” , this exquisite timepiece combines two intricate techniques — snow-setting diamonds and stone marquetry — to recreate the opulent beauty of Japanese court aesthetics. The elegant craftsmanship pairs harmoniously with the minimalist design of the Arceau collection, achieving a perfect balance between artistry and refinement.Crafted in white gold, the case measures 34mm in diameter, ideal for women with softly contoured wrists. Both the round case and the signature asymmetrical lugs are fully adorned using the snow-setting technique, creating a dazzling brilliance. The dial features black onyx marquetry, forming the intricate “Temari” motif. For now, only this monochrome version has been unveiled, but other variations using lapis lazuli, opal, and mother-of-pearl are expected to debut at Baselworld.
Powered by Hermès’ in-house H1912 automatic movement, it beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 50-hour power reserve, sufficient for daily wear. The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters and paired with a black alligator leather strap and a white gold buckle, exuding understated elegance and luxury.
Temari (手鞠, handball) originated in China and was introduced to Japan during the 7th century, where it became a beloved pastime of the imperial court. Over time, intricate and colorful patterns developed, crafted from leftover Kimono silk and fabric scraps, often given as New Year gifts from parents to children. In modern Japan, Temari has evolved into a symbol of artistry, friendship, and loyalty, representing refined taste and heartfelt connection.Arceau Temari Watch
