The Hermès Arceau Petits Chevaux was launched at Basel in 2010, with its standout feature being the creative horse design on the enamel dial. This design, created by Philippe Mouquet for Hermès’ ties, uses abstract overlapping horse motifs to represent a balanced geometric order. The complexity of the design comes from the multi-layered color patterns, making the firing process more intricate.
If we recall correctly, this piece marks one of the earliest geometric dial experiments in the Arceau collection. Now, Hermès has mastered such designs, and the choice of subject matter has become more refined, giving this watch a unique and special significance in hindsight.
The watch is powered by the Fleurier Caliber H 1928, an automatic movement provided exclusively for Hermès, with dual spring barrels offering a 55-hour power reserve.
