Chopard’s annual Urushi lacquer art collection introduces a new masterpiece this year with the L.U.C XP Urushi “Year of the Goat”. This piece celebrates the Lunar Year of the Goat with a handcrafted dial created by the Japanese lacquer master Yamada Heiando, exclusively for Chopard.
This year’s Urushi dial is far more intricate than previous editions. The lacquer artist has depicted a complete scene on the dial—sky, clouds, weeping willows, branches, hills, and flowering bushes, with a golden “wooden goat” gracefully wandering through this idyllic landscape. The goat’s horns are crafted from two mother-of-pearl pieces, making clever use of the unique materials of the Urushi lacquer technique.
The watch is powered by the Chopard L.U.C 96.17-L automatic movement, featuring dual barrels and providing up to 65 hours of power reserve.
The case measures 39.5mm in diameter and is available in either rose gold or white gold. The retail price is approximately $25,000 USD.
